The closures are scheduled to begin on July 8.
BETHLEHEM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany County Department of Public Works (DPW) announced upcoming road closures on County Routes 53 and 54 (South Albany and Bell Crossing Roads) in Bethlehem. The closures are scheduled to begin on July 8.
The planned closures are due to construction work on the Champlain Hudson Power Express. Route 54 will be closed to traffic between Route 201 and the CSX Railroad building from July 8 through August 23, with an established detour on Route 102 and Route 396.
Construction will then progress down Route 53 toward Blue Diamond Road. Lane closures and alternating one-way traffic will be in place.
Work on Route 53 is expected to be completed by late September. Anyone with questions can call DPW at (518)765-2055.
