Joey Slye didn't need a "random" NFL drug test to confirm he had a good game against the San Francisco 49ers, but the New England Patriots kicker was requested to take one anyway.
Slye revealed the league's request when he posted a photo to his social media account:
Slye had a career day in the Bay Area on Sunday. The 28-year-old converted a career-long 63-yard field goal at the end of the first half and hit a 54-yarder in the fourth quarter.
He was well-deserving of the "stud" recognition he earned after the blowout loss.
Slye hit 88.9% of his field goal attempts (8-for-9) in four games this season and made each of his four extra-point attempts. He's been one of the Patriots' most productive players -- that says a lot -- and even received a hat tip from former New England head coach Bill Belichick after his Week 4 performance.
Patriots star defender Keion White received a drug test after his dominant performance against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1.
