COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A mother has been charged with the murder of her child more than a month after the 9-month-old girl died.
Charity R. Dreyer, 21, of Whitehall, was charged with murder on Wednesday; she faces additional charges of felonious assault, involuntary manslaughter, and endangering children in connection to injuries she allegedly caused to the girl and her other child, who was 23 months old at the time.
According to police, Dreyer was arrested after officers responded to a call on Sept. 23 for the 9-month-old girl who wasn't breathing. Officers noticed the other child appeared to be injured as well.
Court records state that Dreyer allegedly abused the 23-month-old child, causing a possible broken arm and possible head and neck injuries.
The nature of the 9-month-old girl's injuries has not been disclosed.
Dreyer is being held at Franklin County Jail on the September child endangerment charge as well as probation violation charges. She is scheduled to appear in court on the new charges on Monday, Nov. 4.
