COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – An unsolved murder of a 15-year-old boy in northeast Columbus has reached four years and authorities are still searching for new leads.
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers and Columbus police are seeking help in new information related to the death of Dawaun Lewis-Taylor, who was gunned down on Sept. 29, 2020, in the Forest Park East neighborhood.
Officers responded to the 4800 block of Heatherton Drive, near Northtowne Park, where Lewis-Taylor was found with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead just before 4 p.m.
While the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unknown, police said that a silver Chrysler 300 was seen fleeing the scene shortly afterward, heading east on Trent Road toward Northtowne Boulevard.
Lewis-Taylor was one of 21 children in Columbus who were killed in shootings in 2020.
