COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- People across the country tuned in to Friday night's Mega Millions drawing see if they have the good fortune to take a fortune home.
As there has not been a winner since June 4, this week's jackpot is steep. At $750 million, a winner Friday night would take home the seventh largest jackpot in the history of the game.
Friday's winning Mega Millions white ball numbers are 6, 23, 41, 59, and 63, and the gold Mega Ball is 25. The optional Megaplier is 2X.
In the history of Mega Millions, there has never been a jackpot won between $656 million and $1 billion, so this would also make history as the largest sum won in the millions. The largest-ever sum won in the game was $1.602 billion, which was won by a player in Florida in August of 2023.
Friday's $740 million total refers to the option of annual payments. If a winner opted for one lump cash payout, they would receive around $366.3 million. Neither payout would be received in full due to taxes.
