Molly McCann will fight in her home country once again.
The UFC announced on Tuesday that McCann will face Bruna Brasil in a strawweight contest at UFC 304, which takes place July 27 at the new Co-Op Live in Manchester, England. Ag. Fight first reported the matchup.
After getting stopped in the first round in consecutive fights by Erin Blanchfield and Julija Stoliarenko, McCann made the move down from flyweight to the 115-pound division. “Meatball” made her first 2024 appearance at February’s UFC Vegas 85 event where she delivered, quite possibly, the best performance of her career when she submitted Diana Belbita via armbar with just one second left in the opening round.
Brasil, a Contender Series veteran, makes her fourth walk to the octagon, and looks to bounce back from a decision loss against Loma Lookboonmee at UFC Vegas 86 in February. “The Special One” is 1-2 in the promotion, with her lone win coming via unanimous decision against Shauna Bannon at UFC London this past July.
Additionally, the UFC announced a featherweight tilt between the U.K.’s Nathaniel Wood and perennial finisher Daniel Pineda.
UFC 304 will feature a welterweight championship bout between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad — who meet for the second time — in the main event, while Tom Aspinall will defend his interim heavyweight championship against Curtis Blaydes in the co-main event.
