Brandon Nimmo left Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins soon after fouling a ball off his foot in the sixth inning, but after the game told reporters he will be ready to go for the Mets’ next game on Friday.
“It’s sore, but it’ll be fine,” he said. “X-rays were negative. So we’ll be good to go Friday. Good timing on the off day and we’ll be back at it Friday.”
Nimmo fouled the 0-2 pitch off his foot, but finished the at-bat and struck out. He was replaced in left field by Ben Gamel in the seventh.
Nimmo, 31, has played in 102 of the Mets’ 108 games this season and at least 150 in the last two years.
