Mike Vasil had his best outing of the season, going seven strong innings, and Saul Garcia struck out nine over four innings in relief of Grant Hartwig in a St. Lucie win on Tuesday.
Luke Ritter just continues to hit, smashing his 20th home run of the season. Every Syracuse player had a hit on the day.
Mike Vasil had by far his best outing of the season, with his only blemish being a solo home run he allowed in the first inning. The bullpen came out and shut it down, with newly promoted Trey McLoughlin making his Triple-A debut and pitching a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.
Kevin Parada had one of the two hits on Tuesday, a double in the seventh inning. Ryan Clifford drew yet another walk, continuing to show his strong plate discipline.
Dakota Hawkins struggled in his Double-A debut, going three innings and allowing four runs on four hits while only striking out one. It was the second straight outing for Hejka going three innings and not allowing an earned run.
The Brooklyn Cyclones will play a doubleheader on Wednesday, with game one starting at 4:35 PM.
St. Lucie only managed one extra-base hit on the day but turned five hits and five walks into four runs. Colin Houck is starting to come around offensively, but he committed his 18th error of the season.
Grant Hartwig made his first rehab appearance for St. Lucie and struck out two in his inning of work. Saul Garcia relieved him and struck out nine over four innings. Gregori Louis has been outstanding all season and a promotion should be coming soon.
