A Porsche SUV crashed through the walls of a barber shop and struck a 10-year-old boy as customers ran screaming.
The 32 Degreez Barber Shop in West Houston, was busy with chairs full and staff members walking around when a dark Porsche Macan burst through a wall in a terrifying moment captured by a Ring camera.
Many of the people ran out of the way, but the vehicle struck a boy and sent him flying to an opposite wall. Debris flew in all directions.
The boy suffered internal bleeding and was transported to a hospital, said police. He underwent surgery, barber Chez Robertson told KHOU.
The boy was reportedly was forced into a massage parlor adjacent to the barber shop.
‘Man, it was crazy, man. I was shaken up, man when I turned. I was like, ’cause it’s like the kid just disappeared,’ the barber shop owner, Darrick Brown, told Fox San Antonio.
‘I don’t know. It’s just one of them things that happen.’
The owner of the strip mall, Joseph Rothchild, said the driver was a 61-year-old man who said he just received dialysis treatment.
‘He said he remembered backing up, and he remembered going forward, but after that, he just remembered waking up in the space,’ said Rothchild.
The driver will be held without fault for the incident that happened shortly after noon on December 14, police said.
It happened days before a taxi jumped a sidewalk at Herald Square in New York City on Christmas Day and injured at least six people including a nine-year-old boy who was struck and hospitalized.
The barber shop incident occurred a few months after a couple were sitting down for dinner in their living room in Phoenix, Arizona, when a car burst through and injured them. Their dogs who were alongside them survived the ordeal.
