A British dad has been missing for 19 days while in Tenerife, a popular holiday destination for Britons in the Canary Islands.
Paul Wrigglesworth, 60, was last heard from on December 16 after flying to Los Cristianos, a town on the southwest coast, in late November.
His family last heard from him during a Facetime call from the Big Ben Pub on Avenida Juan Carlos I, Missing Persons Tenerife said.
In an appeal, a representative of the group said on Facebook: ‘His phone has been offline since before December 22, and he has said that he no longer has his passport.
‘Paul may be in a vulnerable situation and sleeping rough, possibly on a beach or in caves.’
Paul’s son, Mark, added: ‘Anyone with any news about my dad, good or bad, please get in touch.’
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has been approached for comment.
At least 50 people have been reported missing in Tenerife, according to the local non-profit SOS Desaparecidos.
Paul’s disappearance comes months after Jay Slater, a 19-year-old bricklayer, vanished in Tenerife.
Jay vanished after attending a music festival on the Spanish island in June, On the final night, he left with two people he had met there to go to their rental property in a secluded part of the island.
Lucy Law, a friend of the Lancashire local, said he phoned her the following morning to say he was lost and thirsty out in the mountains and his phone battery was nearly drained.
Jay’s body was found near the last location of his mobile phone in July after a weeks-long search that saw his family and friends fly to the island to help track him down.
Officials said Jay died of traumatic head injuries, consistent with a fall from height.
