A female prison officer has been arrested after allegedly being caught on camera having sex with an inmate.
Footage taken last week at the Category C Five Wells jail in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, reportedly shows the officer performing a sex act on the prisoner.
The pair then have sex, with the tattooed inmate filming the encounter.
A spokesperson for the jail said: ‘A prison custody officer has been suspended and arrested by Northamptonshire Police on suspicion of misconduct in a public office.
‘It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate.’
Footage shows the blonde officer’s trousers removed while her white shirt and security pass remain on.
It has been circulated among convicts in the prison, which houses men who are considered a moderate risk.
Concerns have repeatedly been raised about the £235 million jail, with the most independent report saying issues are worsening.
The Independent Monitoring Board said drugs are ‘routinely available’ inside the jail, with at least 25% of the 1,700 prisoners randomly tested for illegal substances found to be positive.
A source said the officer has ‘risked everything’ to have sex with the inmate.
They told The Sun: ‘It is shocking, especially after scandals at other prisons.
‘The female warder is being incredibly stupid. She has risked everything and it has been reported to bosses so her career is effectively over.
‘I know they’re called screws but you can’t be sleeping with prisoners in your prison and definitely shouldn’t do it on camera.’
Northampton Police said: ‘A 19-year-old woman has been arrested by Northamptonshire Police on suspicion of misconduct in a public office.
‘This is a live investigation and, as such, we can make no further comment at this time.’
It comes after another female prison guard at HMP Five Wells had a prisoners baby.
Rachel Stanton’s affair with Edwin Poole, who was jailed for armed robbery, was discovered after staff found intimate photographs of the pair in his cell.
CCTV footage also captured the couple going into a prison storeroom for an hour of ‘intimacy’.
Despite Stanton being suspended from the prison, she continued to visit Poole and they now share a child.
Linda De Sousa Abreu caused a sensation after she admitted to having sex with an inmate inside HMP Wandsworth.
The pair’s encounter went viral after De Sousa Abreu, who is married, was filmed having sex with inmate Linton Weirich, 36, in June as her radio crackles with messages in the background.
His cellmate records the encounter on his phone, saying: ‘This is how we roll in Wandsworth.’
Piles of clothes can be seen heaped over a bunk bed inside the cell.
A friend who is smoking while recording says: ‘Guys we’ve made history, this is what I’m telling you.’
Another prison officer narrowly avoided jail after having phone sex with two inmates.
Leanne Butcher became a student support officer in the education delivery department at HMP Swinfen Hall in Lichfield after seeing an advert on Facebook.
But the 31-year-old soon struck up an intimate relationship with convicted killer Junior Lukelo-Mami.
Around the same time, Butcher also developed a similar rapport with Tariq Dervan, who is currently serving an extended sentence for robbing the brothers of Premier League footballers Marcus Rashford and Trent Alexander-Arnold at gunpoint.
