A father allegedly beheaded his own one-year-old son after attacking his wife and mother-in-law.
Andrey Demskiy, 28, is accused of using a knife to sever his son’s head inside a California home as his wife and mother-in-law waited for cops outside, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a family disturbance at a home in North Sacramento County around 4.15am on Friday and arrived to find a woman who said her husband, Demskiy, had assaulted her and her mom.
Demskiy refused to surrender to deputies, who upon discovering that he was inside with a possibly injured child, forced their way in. He was ‘uncooperative and became physically resistive’, stated the sheriff’s office on Facebook.
‘As Deputies took him into custody, they made the gruesome discovery of a severed child’s head in the bedroom where Demskiy was contacted and detained,’ wrote the office.
Detectives determined that Demskiy murdered his son after his wife and mother-in-law exited the residence on the 7500 block of Versailles Way.
The boy was not immediately identified by authorities, but was named in a GoFundMe page set up by his mother Angelina Demskiy’s sister-in-law,
Lilli Vinn.
‘Our sweet boy, Micah Demskiy, met with the Lord,’ wrote Vinn.
‘The sweet little boy was a kind and joyful soul, loving all people and especially dogs,’ she stated.
‘His kind heart and beautiful smile warmed the hearts of everyone he came in contact with.
‘He loved his family and especially his mama. He loved being with family, going to the park, and singing hymns with his family.’
She added that the mother is unemployed and ‘will also need to be able to support herself along with the child she is carrying’.
Demskiy was arrested and charged with murder, assault by means of force likely to cause great bodily injury and corporal injury to a spouse of cohabitant.
He is being held at Sacramento County Main Jail and was expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
The GoFundMe page for the boy’s funeral arrangements and to support his mother had raised more than $93,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.
It happened a year-and-a-half after a man was convicted of beheading his girlfriend using a machete while inside a car in at an intersection in suburban Minnesota.
