A man in a wheelchair was stabbed to death in East London this afternoon.
The man in his 30s, described by a local butcher as a ‘good boy’, was found with a stab injury on Rushmore Road, a residential area of Lower Clapton.
Video shared on social media claimed the man was stabbed with a machete, but this has not been confirmed by police.
Two men have been arrested.
Officers had been called to reports of a fight at 3.38pm.
An air ambulance was spotted hovering above blocks of flats.
The victim is understood to have been a resident of the local area of the last nine years, MailOnline reported.
A police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at 15:38hrs on Wednesday, August 28, to reports of a fight in Rushmore Road, E5.
‘Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended and found a man, aged in his 30s, suffering a stab injury.
‘Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
‘His next of kin will be informed. Two males (no further details at this time) have been arrested. Enquiries remain ongoing.’
