FREMONT — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday in Fremont, police said.
The two-vehicle collision happened around 5:50 p.m. at a controlled intersection in the 43000 block of Osgood Road, the Fremont Police Department said in a news release.
An initial investigation revealed the motorcyclist was traveling southbound and hit the front end of a passenger vehicle making a left turn from the northbound direction, police said.
The motorcyclist died of their injuries at the scene. Police did not release their identity.
The driver of the passenger vehicle stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police said alcohol and drugs did not appear to play a role.
The death marked the sixth traffic fatality of the year on city streets.
