Two East Bay roadways were closed early Thursday following a pair of vehicle crashes, one of which caused a power outage, authorities said.
Police closed Buskirk Avenue in Pleasant Hill “indefinitely” between Mayhew Drive and the Crossroads Shopping Center off Monument Boulevard after what they said was an “accident.” Pleasant Hill police sent out an advisory about the accident and road closure about 1:55 a.m.
No other details about what happened were available early Wednesday, but the road remained closed at 6:30 a.m.
The incident in Pleasant Hill also caused a power outage that affected 86 customers, according to PG&E’s outage map. Police said the County Connection bus stop in the area also was closed.
In Walnut Creek, police issued an alert about 6:15 a.m. for motorists to avoid westbound Ygnacio Valley Road beginning at Cowell Road “until further notice” because officers were at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash. Police cleared the roadway by 7 a.m.
No other details on that wreck were available immediately.
Police from both agencies said more information on the incidents would be released later Thursday.
