Grindr is testing a new AI plan that could cost $220 a week
Grindr is testing a new premium tier that could cost up to $499 per month, Business Insider reported.
The new EDGE membership will be powered by Grindr's proprietary AI stack, "gAI," according to a blog post by the app's chief product officer, AJ Balance.
"Grindr is becoming an AI-first company," Balance wrote. "EDGE is designed for users who want a more efficient, higher-signal experience — less scrolling, better conversations, and stronger follow-through."
EDGE features include:
A-List, which the blog describes as "a recap of meaningful chats and missed connections." When Grindr spoke to Mashable in 2025 about the A-List beta, the company described it as profile and chat summaries, as well as a short list of best matches.
Discover: personalized profile recommendations
Profile Insights: compatibility data and some other context, like how often they respond and when they're active
Grindr has been testing EDGE in Australia and New Zealand, and it's now expanding the pilot to Canada and some U.S. cities. Because EDGE is an experiment, users may see different prices, the blog post states.
On X, multiple posts show the EDGE price as $219.99 for one week or $349.99 for one month. Online reports show the price ranging from $349.99 to $499.99 per month, according to Business Insider.

AI-powered features can be turned off in the app's Privacy Settings (though, if you're paying $220 a week for AI features, you probably won't).
Existing subscription tiers (Grindr XTRA, $22.99/month, and Unlimited, $44.99/month, per the App Store) are unchanged.
