MMDA terminates 2 more traffic enforcers in extortion video
THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) terminated two more traffic enforcers involved in a robbery-extortion caught on video that went viral last week.
According to a resolution, Mark James Ayatin and Jayson Salibio “committed grave misconduct as public employees”. This comes after an investigation was done on a complaint and video uploaded on social media by Christ Edward Lumagui.
MMDA said the investigation on the video clip clearly showed that Ayatin and Salibio displayed their intent to extort money.
MMDA Chairman Benjamin Abalos approved the termination, saying in a statement that the MMDA “does not and will never condone any wrongdoing of our personnel”.
On May 10, MMDA also dismissed two traffic enforcers from service after they were caught asking for bribe money on a viral video. They were found guilty of extortion and grave misconduct.
