The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, (DSVA) has taken the campaign against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) to Iba LCDA Community Development Council recently
The Executive Secretary, of Lagos DSVA, Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi averred that reaching the Communities for collaborative efforts in the fight against all forms of abuses and violence remains crucial and cannot be underestimated
Vivour-Adeniyi, who was represented at the event by officials of the DSVA’s Community Department, averred that the Agency is ensuring that the State Government’s resolve to rid the State of SGBV menace remains unwavering and unflinching
The participants were exposed to the various support services the State Government provided freely for Lagosians, ranging from medical, legal services, empowerment, psycho-social support and law enforcement, adding that there are other partner agencies whose services can also be accessed freely at the Agency.
The community leaders were encouraged to join the State Government’s fight against SGBV by exposing perpetrators, bringing them to Justice and creating a safe society for all.
While emphasising the need to report cases, through the official toll-free line: 08000333333, of any form of abuse occurring in their domain, the Executive Secretary stressed that prompt reporting is sacrosanct to evidence gathering and urged the leaders to ensure timely reports of such incidents.
The Iba CDC Secretary, who represented the CDC Chairman, Mr. Agbogunleri Damilare Thomas, appreciated the Agency for the initiative, assuring the state government of the cooperation of the entire community.
