AUSTIN (KXAN) — Slow summer months for Austin Public Health's inspections of restaurants, medical facilities, schools and grocery stores are on the way out, with the city agency giving scores to 553 locations.
This is still down from 2023 when APH inspected 639 locations, and from 2022, when it checked 911 locations.
Just one local restaurant got a perfect inspection score -- Javi's Best of Tex-Mex, located at 7709 E Ben White Blvd.
And these franchise restaurants scored 100s:
On average, 11.4% of inspected locations earned scores of 100. Roughly 58% earned a score in the 90s and 22.4% earned a score in the 80s. Just two locations earned scores of 70 or below.
