AUSTIN (KXAN) — Those groovin' on down to the 2024 Austin City Limits Music Festival this month have multiple means of getting to and from the festivities.
The 2024 festival runs Oct. 4-6 and Oct. 11-13 at Zilker Park. Roadways surrounding the park will be affected as part of the event, with a complete street closure map available below.
ACL will operate a free shuttle service circulating between Republic Square Park (at the corner of Fourth and San Antonio streets) and the Barton Springs west entrance to Zilker Park. Shuttles will begin operating at noon on Fridays and at 11 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays for both weekends of the festival.
For those looking to take a CapMetro bus, MetroRapid Route 803 is ideal for ACL. It drops off attendees at the intersection of South Lamar Boulevard and Barton Springs Road.
Those who might need to make bus connections to MetroRapid Route 803 or who are looking for available stops near them can use CapMetro's trip planner tool to map out their planned route.
The Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail is also available to those looking to walk or ride directly to the festival. Motorized vehicles aren't permitted on the trail, and guests are reminded to bring a light for their walk or ride back at night.
Rideshare services are available, with designated pickup and drop-off points underneath the MoPac Pedestrian Bridge at Veterans Drive along with spots at Lee Barton Drive and Wallingwood Drive. Those looking to use a rideshare service can request a ride once they've crossed the MoPac Frontage Road, South Lamar Boulevard, Wallingwood Drive or cross the pedestrian bridge while heading back to Austin High School.
Those using a micromobility device, like an electric scooter, are advised to drop those vehicles off at approved spots on Toomey Road, Azie Morton Street and Lee Barton Drive.
No parking is permitted at Zilker Park or in area neighborhoods during the festival, with those who attempt it liable to face a large fine for parking on the grass or in unauthorized areas.
Instead, ACL festival organizers point to other parking options nearby:
