PARIS (KXAN) -- From a cuisine of duck liver to macarons, Top Chef finalist Kevin D'Andrea caught up with Nexstar's Jala Washington in Paris to show her some of his favorite spots to enjoy French cuisine.
D'Andrea is from France and now lives in Austin, where he hosts a new series called "Breaking Baguettes" -- launched by NBC Sports.
The show allows viewers a look inside some of the personalities potentially competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. D'Andrea hosts the series from his Austin kitchen.
As D'Andrea continues that series, Washington caught up with him to try French cuisine as different places, all while walking down some of the prettiest, most famous avenues in the world.
The first stop for Washington and D'Andrea was Le Drugstore -- a 4.5 star restaurant that is actually connected to a literal drug store.
D'Andrea first suggested he and Washington try the snails and duck liver.
"You have to try it. Trust me, you have to try it," D'Andrea said to Washington about the duck liver. "You'll see. You're going to love it. Trust me, you're going to love it."
After washing down the snail with some wine, Washington and D'Andrea walked to the fashion district -- not to shop (this time), but to try one of the best bakeries known for its macarons. It's not far from the Louis Vuitton store café.
Now that D'Andrea has shown Washington his favorite spots in Paris, he said next time she should show him around some Austin spots.
