AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A suspect in the June 2022 murder of a 16-year-old in northwest Austin was sentenced last month to 45 years in prison.
Xelso Mora-Vasquez pled guilty to and was indicted on a murder charge in connection to a deadly shooting that happened June 12, 2022 in northwest Austin, according to sentencing paperwork.
The Austin Police Department and Williamson County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident, which happened in the 12600 block of Oro Valley Trail. WCSO said a group of people were in a verbal altercation that resulted in shots fired.
Mora-Vasquez was sentenced to serve 45 years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice facility. He has 733 days, or a little over two years, in jail credit.
