AUSTIN (KXAN) — EA Sports released the rankings of its top 100 players from its upcoming College Football 25 video game release, and the list of the Texas Longhorns isn't as big as you might think.
Quarterback Quinn Ewers and offensive lineman Kelvin Banks Jr. are the Longhorns in the top 100. Overall, Banks ranks the highest at No. 13 with a 94 and Ewers sits at No. 27 with a 92. Banks' highest attributes are his awareness at 96 and strength at 92 while Ewers has an awareness rating of 97 with an 81 rating in speed. EA Sports didn't publish position-specific attributes with the top 100 release (like arm strength for quarterbacks, as an example).
From a position standpoint, Ewers is the No. 3 quarterback overall, trailing Georgia's Carson Beck and Colorado's Shadeur Sanders. Banks is the No. 2 left tackle.
Texas will see one of the game's top-rated players in the Week 2 of the season. Michigan cornerback Will Johnson is one of three players with a 96 overall rating to top the list. Ewers and what's expected to be a dynamic offense will have to figure out how to limit Johnson's impact Sept. 7 when the teams meet in Ann Arbor. The other players with a 96 rating are Louisiana State left tackle Will Campbell and Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II.
