HORTON (KSNT) - An individual was arrested after police responded to reports of an active shooter threat at the Kickapoo Nation School in Powhattan on Wednesday.
According to the Kickapoo Tribal Police Department, officers were called to the school at 8:36 a.m. for a report of a potential active shooter. Officers quickly found and apprehended the suspect. The suspect was taken to a holding facility to await a court hearing.
The police department says there is no threat to staff, students or the school. They said the incident is under investigation and that no further comment would be made at this time.
