What We’re Tracking
Mostly cloudy weather will clear overnight with any lingering showers ending fairly early in the evening. Sunday will be slightly hotter in the middle 90s. Wind will increase from the south to 15-25mph by Sunday afternoon as the heat moves in.
The upper level jet stream continues to carry wildfire smoke from the Pacific Northwest and Canada into northeast Kansas. Although not as prominent as it has been the last couple of days, we still have a 'hazy' look outside and a red tint to our sunrises/sunsets.
Heading into Monday, the heat begins to really ramp up, reaching into triple digits for several days in a row. Overnight lows won't provide much relief either as we struggle to 'cool' down below 80°. Make sure to take it easy next week, drink plenty of water, and find ways to stay cool!
