TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) -- A car hit and killed a person Thursday evening on the Kansas Turnpike in southeast Topeka, the Kansas Turnpike Authority confirmed.
Emergency crews first responded around 8:30 p.m. The accident happened near mile marker 179, shortly before the South Topeka toll booth, in the westbound lanes according to KTA.
Just before 11 p.m., the KTA said the area was cleared.
Authorities have not identified the person killed as of Friday morning.
