CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Police in Pennsylvania are searching for two men who allegedly robbed a motel in Cumberland County — during which time one of the suspects grabbed himself a complimentary coffee from the lobby breakfast bar.
Dubbed the "coffee break bandits" by the Middlesex Township police, the suspects were filmed holding up an employee at the Motel 6 in Carlisle on Dec. 21, 2024.
"Two masked suspects entered the lobby area where one of the suspects demanded money from desk clerk while the other suspect helps himself to some free coffee," police wrote.
Video from inside the Motel 6 lobby shows one suspect at the motel's front desk while the other pours himself a cup of joe. At times, the coffee-drinking suspect appears to be struggling to sip his beverage through his ski mask.
The suspects left the scene in a vehicle driven by a third person, police said.
Officials are now asking the public for help identifying any of the suspects, urging anyone with information to contact the Middlesex Township Police Department. Police also released footage of the suspects arriving in a vehicle in the motel's parking area.
Police did not say how much money, if any, the duo made off with.
"The investigation is ongoing," police wrote.
