OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — OG&E will send crews to south Texas on Wednesday to aid with power restoration after Hurricane Beryl caused widespread damage to the area.
OG&E crews will depart from Warren Theater in Moore Wednesday at 6 a.m. and are expected to arrive in south Texas by Wednesday afternoon to help CenterPoint Energy with restoring power to 1.8 million customers.
Temperatures in south Texas are expected to hit triple digits this week.
More than 100 OG&E employees and contractors consisting of line crews and support personnel, will be assisting in the power restoration process.
Mutual assistance crews are usually deployed for up to 14 days and if more assistance is required, OG&E will rotate in additional crews.
