Oklahoma's softball team got three two-run home runs on their way to a 9-1 six inning run-rule win over Duke in the first round of the Women's College World Series on Thursday at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.
After falling behind 1-0, the Sooners took the lead with a pair of two-run home runs in the third inning, first from Kinzie Hansen, then from Alynah Torres.
In the fourth, OU added three more runs, with Cydney Sanders hitting a two-run homer, and Kinzie Hansen driving home a run with a single to put the Sooners up 7-1.
OU ended the game in the sixth inning when Alyssa Brito singled in two runs to give the Sooners an eight-run edge and the run-rule win.
Oklahoma gave up a solo home run in the second inning to Duke's Francesca Frelick, and OU starting pitcher Kelly Maxwell only lasted 3 and two-thirds innings, with four walks and four strikeouts, but only gave up one hit with the homer.
Kierston Deal pitched the final two and a third innings, giving up two hits and no runs.
Oklahoma has won nine straight games in the Women's College World Series, and they extended their record with their 19th straight win in an NCAA Tournament game.
OU has also won 22 straight games at Devon Park, and the Sooner senior class is now 43-4 at Devon Park.
Oklahoma will face UCLA Saturday at 2:00 pm.
