Wagner Moura Holds Hands With Wife Sandra Delgado at Oscars 2026

Wagner Moura hits the red carpet at his first Academy Awards on Sunday (March 15) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The 49-year-old Brazilian actor was joined by his wife of over 20 years, Sandra Delgado.

While Wagner has been nominated, and won, for several Brazilian Academy Film Awards, this year he is nominated for his first US Academy Award. he is up for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his work in the movie The Secret Agent.

The political thriller film is also nominated for Best Picture, Best Casting and Best International Feature Film (Brazil).

While speaking with Extra on the red carpet, Wagner dished on why his historic nomination is bittersweet.

“It feels like the top of the mountain that we’ve been climbing… and this is it. We got to the top of it and now it’s just like enjoy it and have fun,” he said.

Though he says it feels “great” to be nominated, he notes, “It feels like we should have had more people like me like in this position, more Latin actors getting this kind of attention. We just hope that this can exactly open the space to other Latinos out there.”

“If that Brazilian dude could be there, maybe I could be there someday,” he says of what he hopes the message of his nomination sends, describing this as “a little of a bittersweet feeling.”

The Oscars ceremony is being hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien for the second year in a row. Sinners broke a record for most nominations for a movie in a single year, with 16 nods. Check out the full list of nominees!
