Hilary Duff Admits She Felt 'Used' by Ashley Tisdale, Calls Out Lies in Toxic Mom Group Essay
Hilary Duff is speaking out with even more comments about the “toxic mom group” essay written by her former friend Ashley Tisdale.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple months, you should already know how Ashley dropped an essay about her decision to leave a “toxic mom group” and fans have speculated that Hilary is part of that group. Hilary‘s husband made a comment that seemingly confirmed the rumors.
After breaking her silence on the controversy last week, Hilary is going more in-depth into her thoughts.
For her podcast appearance on Call Her Daddy, Hilary revealed that she felt “used” by Ashley and she’s calling out some “lies.”

“I felt really sad. I honestly felt really sad. I was pretty taken aback and felt just sad. I love, I have so many groups of friends. I’m so lucky. Motherhood has brought on, like I have my core group of friends who have been my ride or die for 20 years, 10 to 20 years, and I have tons of different groups of mom friends because I have four kids, you know? So, I think I just was like, ‘Whoa.’ It sucks to read something that’s not true and it sucks on behalf of like six women and all of their lives,” Hilary said.
When asked if she wanted to clarify anything, she added, “I think it came at like the craziest time where I was like, like the timing felt not great and I felt used.”
In response to the drama, Hilary‘s husband Matthew Koma posted a fake headline for Ashley’s essay, writing, “When You’re The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.”
Of his post, Hilary stated, “Honestly, everything he does makes me laugh. So I was like, ‘Oh my God. Oh my God.’ But I also don’t censor him, and I don’t tell him what he can and can’t post. He is so, like, fierce for me, and, like, I love him for that.”
