President Donald Trump is threatening the death penalty for Nancy Guthrie‘s captors if she is not returned unharmed.
The 84-year-old mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie has been missing since February 1 and in a new phone interview with the New York Post, Trump says he wants the Justice Department to pursue the “most severe” federal penalties, including the death penalty if Nancy is killed.

He said those behind her abduction would face “very, very severe — the most severe” federal consequences.
When asked specifically if that meant the death penalty, the president said, “The most, yeah — that’s true.”
In the most recent update, the Guthrie family has been cleared as suspects, according to Sheriff Chris Nanos, who also recently spoke up about unsubstantiated online rumors and theories.
