The song is featured on his 2023 studio album nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana, and explains his journey to the top, his lavish lifestyle, and his experience in the music industry making a name for himself.
“Drinking a lot of champagne, we’re never dry / First came Verstappen, then came Checo / If Pablo saw me, he’d say I’m a beast / You’re talking s–t while me and mine are in Monaco,” he declares on the track in English.
Max Verstappen and Sergio “Checo” Pérez are two Formula 1 drivers. Pablo seemingly refers to Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria, founder and leader of the Medellín Cartel, one of the most notorious drug traffickers in history.
The song’s beat samples “Hier encore” by French artist Charles Aznavour released in 1964.
The music video, filmed in Monte Carlo, Monaco in 2023 during the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, features appearances from several celebrities, including Al Pacino, Max Verstappen, and Sergio “Checo” Pérez.
The song went on to become a No. 5 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, among many other territories worldwide.
