Catherine O'Hara Died After a 'Brief Illness,' Rushed to Hospital Prior to Her Passing
New details are coming to light regarding the passing of Catherine O’Hara.
If you didn’t know, the screen icon, known for roles in classics like Home Alone and Best In Show, as well as Schitt’s Creek, died at the age of 71 on Friday (January 30).
While there were no details about the cause of death upon the initial reports, her manager has since spoken out with some clarity, as have officials who reported to the scene.

Her manager has since spoken out and confirmed that Catherine passed away following a “brief illness,” per Variety.
She was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital just prior, per Page Six.
Paramedics were called to her home in Brentwood, Calif. at 4:48 a.m. Friday morning (January 30) for a medical aid call, per a spokesperson for the LA Fire Department, and was transported in “serious condition.”
One of her final public appearances was alongside her husband at the 2025 Emmy Awards.
