Toddler Dies After Falling Through Frozen Pond & Being Rescued by Neighbor
A toddler in Virginia died after being rescued from a frozen lake.
On Monday (January 26), the Henrico Police Department responded to a call at approximately 1:40 p.m. about a water rescue that took place on Shore View Drive in the Three Chopt Magisterial District, according to a news release shared with Just Jared.

“Once on scene, officers located the child unconscious and receiving CPR from personnel with the Henrico County Division of Fire. He was transported to an area hospital in life-threatening condition,” the release stated.
An update later that day confirmed that the unnamed young boy died at the hospital.
“Henrico Police will work with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death in this incident. Detectives within the Criminal Investigations Section are working to determine how this incident unfolded,” the release stated.
According to WTVR CBS 6, the toddler’s rescuer was believed to be a neighbor.
The Henrico Police Department confirmed that the man was also treated for possible hypothermia on the scene. It is not clear how they are doing.
Just Jared contacted the Henrico County Police Department on Tuesday (January 27) for updates in the investigation, but there were none at that time.
