Joey King In Talks for 'Bambo' Boxing Movie Directed by Natasha Lyonne
Joey King is in talks to work with Natasha Lyonne on the upcoming boxing movie Bambo.
Natasha has written the script for the upcoming movie and is set to direct it as well. Joey will play the title role, Sophie “Bambo” Braverman, according to Deadline.

Bambo is “set in the ’80s and follows a Brooklyn-born boxing-promoter father as he tries and fails to become the next Don King and takes his kid daughter along for the hurly burly ride of tax evasion, cocaine, race cars, lost dreams, and heartbreak.”
The nickname Bambo, given to her by her father, stands for “Baby Rambo.”
Natasha has directed many episodes of television, including for her shows Russian Doll and Poker Face. She’s also in pre-production for the film Uncanny Valley, which she will direct.
Deadline reports that production on Bambo will begin this summer.
Joey has an exciting movie hitting theaters in September 2026.
