Ben Affleck Reveals He Was Sick With Food Poisoning While Filming a Pivotal 'Armageddon' Scene
Ben Affleck is opening up about filming the 1998 hit movie Armageddon!
The 53-year-old actor revealed in a recent interview while promoting his new Netflix movie The Rip that he was vomiting between takes when he was filming a scene with Bruce Willis nearly 30 years ago.
“It probably made the scene better,” he told Fox 32 Chicago‘s Jake Hamilton with a laugh.

The scene? His emotional goodbye with Bruce in Armageddon.
“When we shot that scene, I had food poisoning,” Ben dished. “I wasn’t an experienced enough actor at that point to know that you can just pick up the phone and be like, ‘I’m too sick to work today.’ I’m like, ‘I better come in.’ I went and I was literally, it’s the only time it’s ever happened in my life, vomiting between takes. They had a garbage can, and I was chucking. They yelled, ‘Cut,’ and I was [makes vomit noises].”
He also shared that he was just reminiscing about the movie at The Rip premiere with Steve Buscemi.
“That was the weirdest, kind of wonderful, strange, otherworldly movie experience that neither one of us had any experience,” he said.
A few years ago, Ben shared how he was made to fix his teeth and work out to be sexy for the movie.
