'Roommates' Lyrics: Hilary Duff Explains What New Song Is About, Drops Music Video - Watch Now!
Hilary Duff has dropped her new single “Roommates” and she’s opening up about the meaning behind the song.
This is the second song off Hilary‘s upcoming new album, luck… or something, which is due out on February 20.
“’Roommates’ is a song about when life is life-ing, babe,” Hilary said in a statement provided to JustJared.com. “It’s that ache for a wilder, freer time – before the days were swallowed by carpools, budget talks, grocery runs and letting old or new insecurities slip in. It’s the restless hum of wanting to find your way back – to your rhythm, to your person, to yourself.”
The song was co-written by Hilary, her husband Matthew Koma, and Brian Phillips.
Hilary sings in the chorus, “I want the highlights, ten out of ten / The butterflies from holding your hand / Before we swept us under the bed / And we became practically roommates.”
