Paul Mescal Clarifies Comments After Saying He's Taking Acting 'Break' Until 2028
Don’t worry fans, Paul Mescal isn’t going anywhere!
In a recent interview with The Guardian, the 29-year-old Oscar-nominated actor spoke about “rationing” himself and his workload after the awards season campaign ends for his new movie Hamnet.
“Once I’ve finished promoting that, I hope nobody gets to see me until 2028 when I’m doing the Beatles,” Paul shared. “People will get a break from me, and I’ll get a break from them.”
He also said that he’s “learning that I don’t think I can go on [acting] as much.”
After sparking retirement speculation, Paul clarified his comments.
Keep reading to find out more… “Oh, what I mean by that is that I’m excited for the period of time that will fundamentally exist where I won’t be promoting anything,” Paul clarified to People.
“I would really lose my mind if I took two years off [from] of my job,” he continued. “But what I’m excited about is the concept of not being on a promotional tour for the next two years.”
“I think it’ll give people a welcome break from seeing my face,” the Gladiator II actor joked.
Paul has been very busy these past several years in between working on movies and then promoting them.
He’s now putting all of his focus into Sam Mendes‘ four-film The Beatles biopic series, in which he will be playing Paul McCartney. The project is set to be released in April 2028.
