28-Year-Old Woman Gets Facelift to Appear 'More Refreshed'

There’s a lot of conversation on social media on Monday (November 24) following a news segment that aired on This Morning in the United Kingdom.

Jade Mandongwe, a 28-year-old trainee lawyer, is making headlines for her decision to get a mid-facelift procedure at her age.

“The facelift is back! Having dramatically fallen from fashion over the last decade, the invasive cosmetic surgery has had a surprising resurgence in the past few months, leading to an 8% increase in procedures this year,”This Morning notes, citing Kris Jenner as an example of a celeb who got a lot of positive praise for being candid about her facelift procedure.

Jade went to Turkey for a face, fox-eye, and brow lift at 28.

“I was beginning to look very tired … I’d gone through weight loss journeys in the past and I felt like my skin wasn’t necessarily aging to a point where I needed a complete facelift; it was only a mid-face lift, but … I wanted to look more refreshed and rejuvenated,” she explained, revealing she was six weeks out from the procedure.

She also addressed the post-care at the clinic, calling it “outstanding.”

Jade said she’d started with fillers and Botox around the age of 24. When she was 26, she decided she wasn’t into fillers anymore because they migrate.

“I think [for] my generation … that can sort of influence how you want to look, especially if you see yourself in real life, you’re not going to look like a Snapchat filter…I wasn’t going for that aesthetic, but sometimes it does make you think maybe I could get something slightly lifted. Nothing too drastic,” she added.

She said she spent about £10,000 (about $13,091) on the procedure, along with a brow lift, dental surgery and a breast operation.

“I don’t feel like it’s anything negative to get. If there’s something that I’m not happy with or want to rejuvenate, then I absolutely will consider, but right now I think a point where I’m done,” Jade said of future procedures.

Plastic surgeon William Townley appeared on the segment as well, saying it “wouldn’t be something” he recommends, adding that you “have to tread carefully.”
