Former First Lady Michelle Obama was noticeably missing from President Jimmy Carter‘s state funeral today (January 9) and we now know why.
Her husband, former President Barack Obama, did attend, as did all the other former US Presidents.
Now, we know why the former First Lady was not present.

The Obama‘s released the following statement when President Carter passed, saying, “President Carter taught all of us what it means to live a life of grace, dignity, justice, and service. Michelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to the Carter family, and everyone who loved and learned from this remarkable man.”
