Alexander Zverev and his girlfriend Sophia Thomalla are saying goodbye to Perth, Australia.
The couple had been in town for the 2025 United Cup, but were seen at the airport to leave town on Thursday (January 2).
Alexander, who is the No. 2-ranked tennis player in the world, withdrew from the mixed teams tennis tournament due to an injury.
“Alexander Zverev has withdrawn from the United Cup due to a bicep strain,” organizers said (via Associated Press). “Daniel Masur will take his place for Team Germany in today’s singles match against Kazakhstan.”
Alexander had won his first two singles matches and was scheduled to play in the quarterfinals, but withdrew at the last minute. The Australian Open begins in Melbourne on January 12.
