A host has been selected for the 2025 Oscars!
Amid speculation that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman might cohost the iconic awards ceremony after their turn in Deadpool & Wolverine, it was revealed that the honor would actually go to Conan O’Brien.
The news was confirmed on Friday (November 15), and Conan weighed in on his new role.

“America demanded it, and now it’s happening: Taco Bell’s new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme. In other news, I’m hosting the Oscars,” Conan joked in a press release shared by ABC, the network which hosts the awards ceremony.
“We are thrilled and honored to have the incomparable Conan O’Brien host the Oscars this year,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Janet Yang added. “He is the perfect person to help lead our global celebration of film with his brilliant humor, his love of movies and his live TV expertise. His remarkable ability to connect with audiences will bring viewers together to do what the Oscars do best — honor the spectacular films and filmmakers of this year.”
Conan follows two-time host Jimmy Kimmel.
The 2025 Oscars will air live on March 2, 2025.
