It has been three weeks since Matlock‘s debut episode for the 2024 season premiered, and we still haven’t seen the second episode of the Kathy Bates-starrer.
Now, we’re revealing why season 1, episode 2 won’t air until October 17.
If you didn’t see, many believed the series was just going to be a reboot of the original TV show Matlock, which aired in the late 1980s-early 1990s. However, a big twist at the end of the premiere episode confirmed that the series actually has a totally different, clandestine premise!

As a result of CBS’ decision to give fans an early sneak peek at the debut episode of the series, you won’t be seeing episode two until CBS’ official “premiere week,” which kicks off this week.
Now, episode 2 will air this coming Thursday, and new episodes will continue in that timeslot going forward.
