Ariana Grande said she wasn’t going to sing during her host appearance on Saturday Night Live, but she broke out into song for her opening monologue!
The 31-year-old entertainer, who appears in the new movie musical Wicked as Glinda, was dressed appropriately in a pink dress to open the show on Saturday (October 12) at NBC Studios in New York City.
“I am just hosting. No, I’m not going to make this about me, I’m just gonna have fun, take it easy and, yeah, just keep it lowkey,” Ariana joked about not being the musical guests this time around. Stevie Nicks is there for that job!
Ariana then broke out into a song where she impersonated Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and Gwen Stefani.
Bowen Yang, who also has a role in the Wicked movies, then showed up on stage dressed as Glinda and Ariana had to break the news that they cut the Wicked sketch.
