Steve Howey is addressing the possibility of doing a Shameless reboot.
If you forgot, the 47-year-old actor played Kevin Ball on all 11 seasons of the Showtime series, which ran from 2011 to 2021, starring opposite William H. Macy, Jeremy Allen White, Shanola Hampton, and Emmy Rossum.
In a new interview, Steve explained why he isn’t exactly sold on the idea of Shameless getting a revival.

“The character that an actor plays is specific at the time of when the actor is playing the character. Especially for me,” Steve explained. “Let’s just say I’m doing a scene from Romeo and Juliet and I’m in an acting class, that scene will be different if I do it 10 times throughout my lifetime because what I bring as a human, as a person, will affect the choices I make on how I deliver the lines and listen to the other lines.”
However, Steve did add, “You know and listen, I never say never. A gig’s a gig.”
Since the show wrapped, Steve has remained close friendships with the majority of his Shameless co-stars and also in his new interview, Steve sang his praises for Jeremy and his role on The Bear and Shanola and her role on Found.
“I feel very proud,” Steve said of Jeremy. “He’s having a moment and he deserves it. He works hard and he’s a really good, he’s a good guy. So that’s what’s most important.”
As for Shanola, Steve gushed, “Shanola has her show on NBC, Found, and she’s worked really hard to get where she is. I just keep telling her to start a production company so she can hire me. Shanola is like… She’s like a guardian angel that came from some lifetime ago or on this life. She’s my best friend, she’s very important in my life. And that — besides all the other friendships — I cherish.”
Last year, Steve‘s ex-wife Sarah Shahi shared some insight the end of their marriage.
