Night two drew in a total of 20.8 million viewers according to Nielsen’s live-plus-same-day figures, via The Wrap.
This is up 3.8% from the night before, and it’s also an increase of 40.4% compared to night two of the 2024 Republican National Convention on July 16th, which brought in 14.81 million viewers.
The viewership numbers and rally sizes has been a hot topic for candidate Donald Trump, as he often touts he has the biggest numbers, and there are reports he is “obsessed” with ratings.
Rolling Stone also reported this week that in private moments, Trump has “been sure to stress that the viewership he pulled for his televised acceptance speech on the final night of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee last month was ‘tremendous,’ and that he feels it is unlikely Vice President Harris will be able to top his numbers on the evening she gives her big speech.”
