According to multiple reports, Tom Cruise is set to play a key role in closing out the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Closing Ceremony for the 2024 Games will take place on August 11 and will lay the groundwork for things to pick up again in 2028 in Los Angeles.
While specifics of the Closing Ceremony have not been revealed, sources have said to “expect a major Hollywood production.” There has even been speculation about the role that Tom will play, and there’s some evidence to back it up!

TMZ was the first to report on the Mission: Impossible star’s involvement, noting that he was expected to pull off an epic stunt and rappel from the top of the Stade de France to the field with the Olympic flag in hand.
The outlet reported that Tom filmed some footage for the event in advance that would then play. Back in March, the actor was spotted on the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, with some believing that he skydived down to it.
It appears that he also filmed some footage passing the flag off to Olympic athletes, which will play a role as well.
Deadline shared a similar story, noting that they heard Tom was involved from multiple sources.
