Britney Spears is walking back an alarming post shared to her social media.
The 42-year-old posted a scathing statement on Friday afternoon (July 26), slamming Halsey over her new music video for her latest song “Lucky,” which samples Britney‘s 2000 single of the same name.
Previously, Halsey said that she had Britney‘s blessing for the sample, but Britney was not very pleased with the music video for the song and was considering legal action.
However, the “Oops I Did It Again” hitmaker has taken the post down and claims she didn’t post it.

“Fake news !!! That was not me on my phone !!! I love Halsey and that’s why I deleted it ???? !!!” she wrote in a follow up post on Twitter/X.
In her original post, Britney claimed she felt “harassed, violated, and bullied” by Halsey‘s video, adding she admired her but couldn’t believe she would “illustrate me in such an ignorant way by tailoring me as a superficial pop star with no heart or concern at all.”
The post also addressed her own health problems which led to her taking down her Instagram account, once again, and she would reinstate it. However, the account is, at the time of this post, still not back up.
Halsey has not responded to either post.
Of the music video, Halsey shared on Instagram, “the lucky music video is out, and it’s a lot of feelings happening over here. it was really challenging to incorporate so many conflicting emotions in just a few minutes. this campaign has been fun because I WANT to have fun, but I made lot of this art when I was suffering. I have so many people to thank for being a part of this monumental moment in my life. From the bottom of my heart thank you @giancarla.coppola , pascale , and @simonrex415 and my entire team for making it happen. ⭐️”
