During a panel, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke and Jensen confirmed that Soldier Boy was going to be back for the show’s fifth season, via Deadline.
If you were unaware, Soldier Boy is the biological father of Homelander (Anthony Starr). His return was teased in a brief scene during the show’s latest season.
Jensen will also star in Vought Rising, a spinoff prequel series that will take place in 1950s New York. It’s been described as a “lurid pulp saga prequel” and will also star Aya Cash‘s Stormfront.
“It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought. We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V,” Eric and Paul Grellong, the series’ showrunner, revealed in a statement shared with Variety.
We recently learned that Jensen was going to return for a second season of another show, too.
